of as may be necessary, to pay the claim of Amelia and Eva Goodale, of Nicholville, Saint Lawrence county, New York, for cattle killed, by order of the commissioner, September twenty-second, nineteen hundred and four.

For the commissioner of agriculture for the purpose of defraying expenses incurred in or for paying damages resulting from litigation in which he or any of his appointees or employees may be made defendants, either as officials or individuals, in which the questions litigated involve their actions as either officials or employees, in the enforcement of the agricultural law, the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000).

For the deficiency in the salary of one stenographer from April first, nineteen hundred and six, to October first, nineteen hundred and six, one hundred and fifty dollars ($150).

For the salary of the acting chief of the bureau of information and statistics of the department of agriculture for the month of September, nineteen hundred and five, the sum of one hundred and twenty-five dollars ($125).

For the commissioner of agriculture to pay the expenses incurred by delegates to the farmers' national congress, fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500), or so much thereof as may be necessary.

For the commissioner of agriculture to pay Nicholas Van Horne for services as acting assistant commissioner in the fourth division of the state of New York, from May fifteenth, nineteen hundred and five to December first, nineteen hundred and five, two hundred and sixteen dollars and seventy-one cents (re. $216.71).

For the commissioner of agriculture to pay Robert McAdam for extra services rendered by him while acting as assistant commissioner in the fourth division, from October first, nineteen hundred and four to May fifteenth, nineteen hundred and five, one hundred and eighty-seven dollars and fifty cents (re. $187.50).

The last two amounts to be paid from moneys appropriated by chapter seven hundred and twenty-eight of the laws of nineteen hundred and five, and now in the treasury for salary of assistant commissioner of agriculture in the fourth division.

STATE ARCHITECT.

The sum of one thousand and eight dollars and sixteen cents (re. $1,008.16), being a portion of the unexpended balance of the appropriations made by chapter seven hundred and two of the

laws of nineteen hundred and four and chapter seven hundred of the laws of nineteen hundred and five, for services of employees of the state architect's office, is hereby reappropriated for compensation of employees in said office during the current fiscal

year.

For services and expenses of expert engineer in making examination and report on ventilation of the assembly chamber, adjoining rooms and corridors of the capitol, three hundred and fifty dollars ($350), or so much thereof as may be necessary.

The sum of one thousand dollars, being a portion of the unexpended balance of appropriation made by chapter six hundred and ninety-nine of the laws of nineteen hundred and five for services of assistant chief draftsman in the office of the state architect, is hereby reappropriated for draftsmen and tracers in the same office.

BANKING DEPARTMENT.

For salary of one bookkeeper from March first to October first, three hundred and fifty dollars ($350).

For increased rent for branch office of the department in the city of New York, from May first to October first, fifty-two dollars and ten cents ($52.10).

For the payment of the examiners for the examination of cor porations and individual bankers pursuant to the provisions of the banking law, five thousand dollars ($5,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary, which shall be assessed and collected from corporations and individual bankers according to the amount charged for the examination of each and refunded to the state treasurer.

STATE BOARD OF CHARITIES.

For compensation of commissioners in addition to the amounts heretofore provided for that purpose, one thousand dollars ($1,000).

For temporary help, three hundred dollars ($300).

CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION.

In addition to the sum of one hundred and fifty-four dollars and eighty-three cents (re. $154.83), being the unexpended balance of the appropriations made by chapter seven hundred and twenty-eight of the laws of nineteen hundred and four for the

salaries of the civil service commissioners, which is hereby reappropriated for salaries of temporary employees and for other necessary expenses of the office of the civil service commission, the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars ($150) is hereby appropriated for the same purposes.

FOR THE STATE BOARD OF CLASSIFICATION.

For stationery and office expenses, four hundred dollars ($400) or so much thereof as may be necessary.

For traveling expenses of the secretary and pricing committee, five hundred dollars ($500), or so much thereof as may be necessary.

STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF ELECTIONS.

For the salary of secretary, six hundred and seventy-eight dollars and four cents ($678.04).

EXCISE DEPARTMENT.

For one-half part of the increase in salary of the assistant cashier and bookkeeper in the borough of Brooklyn, to be promoted from the eighth to the ninth grade, three hundred dollars ($300).

FOREST, FISH AND GAME COMMISSION.

For the forest, fish and game commission for the payment of rebates due the various towns on account of bills paid by them for suppressing forest fires, under chapter twenty, laws of nineteen hundred, as amended by chapter five hundred and nineteen, laws of nineteen hundred and one, and for the purpose of printing and posting notices for the prevention of forest fires in the forest preserve the sum of two thousand dollars ($2,000), and the further sum of eight thousand four hundred and fifty-five dollars and forty-nine cents (re. $8,455.49), being the unexpended balance of appropriation made by chapter seven hundred and twenty-nine, laws of nineteen hundred and four, for such purpose, is hereby reappropriated for the same purpose.

For the payment of justices, constables, attorneys and court costs and moieties in various prosecutions, fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary to be paid from the moneys received from fines and penalties, pursuant to chapter twenty, laws of nineteen hundred,

For the payment to J. B. Lyon company for printing twentythree thousand copies of the forest, fish and game law for the year nineteen hundred and five, as ordered by the clerks of the senate and assembly, three thousand five hundred and twentytwo dollars and seventy-eight cents ($3,522.78).

For the payment of expenses of maintenance, operating expenses and repairs of state launches, seven hundred dollars ($700), or so much thereof as may be necessary.

For the purpose of reforesting burned or denuded lands in the forest preserve, and for preparing and distributing instructive pamphlets on forestry subjects pursuant to the provisions of section two hundred and twenty of the forest, fish and game law, seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500), or so much thereof as may be necessary.

For the purpose of completing the new Adirondack map which will conform to the sheets issued by the United States geological survey, twelve hundred dollars ($1,200), or so much thereof as may be necessary.

For expenses of making surveys, witness, court and attorney fees in protecting state's title and interest in state land in the forest preserve, four thousand dollars ($4,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary.

For the salary of the state fish culturist from January tenth, nineteen hundred and six, to September thirtieth, nineteen hundred and six, inclusive, eighteen hundred and seven dollars and seventy-seven cents ($1,807.77), and for his expenses for the same period five hundred dollars ($500), or so much thereof as may be

necessary.

For the purpose of paying extra expenses of the protectors while in the discharge of duty outside their own districts in special cases when acting under orders of the commissioner or chief protector, the sum of three thousand dollars (re. $3,000), being a portion of the unexpended balance of the appropriation made by chapter six hundred and ninety-nine, laws of nineteen hundred and five, for the expenses of game protectors, is hereby reappropriated.

For the purpose of erecting and repairing monuments and signals on state lands now under lease or to be leased in the future. for the shellfish industry, the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000).

The sum of forty-seven thousand three hundred and eighty

seven dollars and thirty-nine cents (re. $47,387.39), being the unexpended balance of appropriation made by chapter seven hundred and seventeen of the laws of nineteen hundred and four for the acquisition of land in the Catskill park, is hereby reappropriated for the same purpose.

For repairs and improvements required for Adirondack hatchery, Saranac Inn, Franklin còunty, Bath hatchery, Bath, Steuben county, Caledonia hatchery, Caledonia, Livingston county, Cold Spring hatchery, Cold Spring Harbor, Suffolk county, Chautauqua hatchery, Bemus Point, Chautauqua county, Delaware hatchery, Margaretville, Delaware county, Fulton Chain hatchery, Old Forge, Herkimer county, and Oneida hatchery, Constantia, Oswego county, five thousand dollars ($5,000).

For the salary of fifteen extra game protectors, from June first, nineteen hundred and six to September thirty, nineteen hundred and six, inclusive, as provided by chapter sixty-nine, laws of nineteen hundred and six, three thousand dollars ($3,000), and for their expenses for the same period, two thousand two hundred and fifty dollars ($2,250), or so much thereof as may be neces

sary.

The sum of ninety-eight thousand nine hundred and twentyone dollars and fifty-eight cents (re. $98,921.58), being the unexpended balance of appropriation made by chapter seven hundred and seventeen, laws of nineteen hundred and four, for the acquisition of land in the Adirondack park, is hereby reappropriated for the same purpose.

For the salary of the state fish culturist for the fiscal year, beginning October first, nineteen hundred and six, two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500), and for his expenses while in the discharge of his duty for the same period, nine hundred dollars ($900), or so much thereof as may be necessary.

For continuing the survey, mapping and plotting of state lands now under lease or to be leased in the future for the shellfish industry, two thousand dollars ($2,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary.

For deficiency in the appropriation for the payment of five forest, fish and game inspectors, two thousand dollars ($2,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary.

COMMISSION OF GAS AND ELECTRICITY.

For the use of the commission and for the payment of the salaries and disbursements under chapter seven hundred and
