THE

ELEMENTARY TRAINING OF CHILDREN FOR AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP

Makes two demands: 1. That they be taught to respect and love their country. 2. That they be taught the significance of the ballot and the responsibility of voting.

Colonel Balch teaches these essentials concretely in his plan, which has been adopted by The Children's Aid Society of New York in its 21 schools with 6000 children.

The U. S. Indian Bureau in its 200 Indian schools with 20,000 children.

The Trustees of the Baron De Hirsch Fund in their schools for Russian Hebrew refugees with 1000 children.

And numerous single schools.

The set of eight papers used at the Second Patriotic Election of the Children's Aid Society, explains WHY the Flag should be saluted; HOW it is saluted, and how through this act, the child is taught the philosophy of the ballot and the practice of voting. Enclose stamp for circular. Correspondence invited. Try this plan.

Lanterns AND Slides

FOR SALE OR RENTAL.

I have a large collection of slides on miscellaneous subjects, in many cases complete sets with a descriptive reading covering interesting points of travel, which I will lease on favor. able terms. Oil Light Lanterns may accompany the slides if needed.

I am also prepared to furnish Stereopticons (with operator) for illustrating lectures, and supply lime light, dissolving view lanterns of the highest power, twenty-five feet square curtain, and everything needed for showing the slides in the best possible manner.

Schools and individuals who contemplate purchasing a lantern will be given advice as to the one best suited for their wants if they will let me know just what their requirements will be. You do not expect a pocket dictionary with coarse print, and must not expect a lantern with one lens to do equally well in a small room and a large hall.
