Since the last annual report the following changes have taken place at the Missions of Convocation:

Church of the Atonement, Morton. The Rev. S. P. Keeling was appointed Missionary-in-charge of this Parish at the beginning of the Convocational year, but subsequently the Parish relinquished its appropriation from Convocation, elected Mr. Keeling Rector and is now self-supporting.

Trinity Mission, Swarthmore. The Rev. H. M. G. Huff has been appointed Missionary at this point.

Ascension Mission, Parkesburg. The Rev. E. T. Mabley has been assigned duty at this Mission, in connection with his work at Paoli and under direction of the Rector of the Church of the Trinity, Coatesville.

St. John's Church, New London. The Rev. Frank P. Clark has been appointed Missionary for this Parish, which for the first time in many years is now under the charge of a resident minister.

St. Luke's Church, Chadd's Ford. The Rev. G. H. Hills has resigned the charge of this Parish, but services are regularly conducted by Mr. T. L. Ogier, Lay Reader, under direction of the Bishop.

St. Andrew's Church, West Vincent. This old Church, which has been closed for several years, has been reopened and services are now maintained there, with the aid of Convocation, by the Rev. Edgar Campbell, Rector of St. Peter's Church, Phoenixville.

Three stated meetings of Convocation were held during the year: On May 26, 1897, at St. Stephen's Mission,

Norwood; on October 12, 1897, at the Church of St. Asaph, Bala, and on April 19, 1898, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Rosemont. At the annual meeting the Rev. George A. Keller was renominated as Dean, and subsequently appointed by the Bishop to that office for the full term of four years.

The Woman's Auxiliary to Convocation has contributed during the year the sum of $350 towards the erection of a Church building for Ascension Mission, Parkesburg.

All reports from the Missions of Convocation are of an encouraging nature and show faithful labor on the part of the Missionaries and considerable growth and progress. Special mention should be made of the Mission of the Good Samaritan, Paoli, where an enlargement of the Church has become necessary and a portion of the money required for that purpose has already been raised; of St. Stephen's Mission, Norwood, where the Chapel has been finished and paid for, except the last $500, which is promised by the Advancement Society and a Rectory is nearing completion, and of Trinity Mission, Collingdale, where a marked general improvement has taken place. At the latter Mission it is proposed to erect a new Church building at a more desirable location.

In addition to the Convocational work, services have been regularly maintained at Cheyney, which is now under charge of the staff of the Philadelphia City Mission, at the Mission of St. Martin's Church, Radnor, at Ithan, and at the Mission of St. Mary's Church, Ardmore, at Mill Creek.

The Convocation of Norristown, among the Parishes composing it and in the special fields more truly missionary in character, has evidenced this last year increased spiritual life and earnestness. Many Rectors report new work undertaken in the outlying districts of their Parishes; new efforts to reach

the people within their bounds, indicating a realization of their responsibility and the spiritual earnestness which is moving them. In most places the growth of the towns or the communities has added strength and hopefulness to the work our faithful clergy are doing, for work in the country depends much upon the growth of the neighborhoods.

At Ambler, under the Rev. Lyman P. Powell, the Mission established by the Rev. Samuel Snelling, Rector of St. Thomas's, Whitemarsh, has forged ahead in a rapid manner. July 1, 1897, the Bishop appointed Mr. Powell to be Minister-in-charge under the direction of the Rector of St. Thomas's, and in February, 1898, the Mission had grown so strong financially and in numbers, that it applied for and obtained independence under the name of Trinity Mission, Ambler. On April 13 there were confirmed in the Mission room twenty-four persons, two of whom, on April 25, signified their desire and intention to build a beautiful Church for the new Parish to be called Trinity Memorial Church. So has this station prospered. At the Mission of the Advent, Hatboro, the work has been carried on by Rev. Mr. Auld, with courage and patience. He reports that: "The interest and zeal of a greater number than have ever before been engaged in the collective work of the Mission, gives cause for gratification and encouragement." At Gwynedd, Rev. Mr. Converse reports, "prosperity and growth to such a degree as that the Parish soon hopes to dispense with further pecuniary assistance from the Convocation." "At Norristown, All Saints' Chapel has so prospered that during the year an independent Parish has been organized and the Rev. W. Herbert Burk, formerly the Minister-in-charge, has been elected Rector." Lansdale, at Rockledge, at Wyncote, zeal and energy and success have distinguished the work. There have been no backward steps taken in any work within the Convocation limits. Everywhere hopeful courageous advance. We have much to be thankful for, spiritually and materially, and we go forward with confidence and faith to do the quiet country work we are set to do.
