When the violets in the spring-time
Catch the azure of the sky,

They are carried out to slumber,

Sweetly where the violets lie.

Cho.

They are going-ever going-
Leaving oft a lonely spot;

But 'tis Jesus who has called them,—
Suffer and forbid them not.

2 They are going-ever going —

When with summer earth is dressed,

In their cold hands holding roses
Folded to each silent breast.

When the autumn hangs red banners

Out upon the harvest sheaves,
They are going-ever going -
Thick and fast like falling leaves.

3 They are going-ever going-
All adown the solemn time;
They have taken up their homeward
March to that serener clime,
Where the watching, waiting angels
Lead them from the shadow dim,
To the brightness of His presence
Who has called them unto Him.

4 They are going-ever going —
Out of pain and into bliss,
Out of sad and sinful weakness

Into perfect holiness.

Snowy brows-no cares shall shade them;

Bright eyes-fears shall never dim;

Rosy lips - no time shall fade them;
Jesus called them unto Him.

The Lord my Shepherd is.

1 The Lord my Shepherd is,
I shall be well supplied;
Since He is mine, and I am His,
What can I want beside?

Hollister, Pt. II., p. 49.

He leads me to the place
Where heavenly pasture grows,
Where living waters gently pass,
And full salvation flows.

Sang the praise of Jesus' name;
Children, too, of later days,
Join to sing the Saviour's praise.

Hollister, Pt. II., p. 59.

Infants.-Hark! while infant voices sing-
Trio Inf.-Hark! while infant voices sing
Full Cho.-Loud hosannas to our King.

2 We have often heard and read
What the royal psalmist said:
"Babes and sucklings artless lays
Shall proclaim the Saviour's praise.”

3 We are taught to love the Lord,
We are taught to read His word,
We are taught the way to heaven;
Praise to God for all be given.

(Rep.)

4 Parents, teachers, old and young,
All unite to swell the song:
Higher and yet higher rise,
Till hosannas reach the skies.

Eventide.

1 Abide with me: fast falls the eventide;

The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide:
When other helpers fail, and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, oh! abide with me.
2 Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
Change and decay on all around I see;

O Thou! who changest not, abide with me.
3 I need Thy presence every passing hour:
What but Thy grace can foil the Tempter's power?
Who like Thyself my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine oh! abide with me.

4 I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness:
Where is death's sting? where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

5 Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;

Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies;
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee.
In life, in death, O Lord, remember me.

1

I was a wandering sheep,

I did not love the fold;

Lebanon.

I did not love my Shepherd's voice,

I would not be controlled.

I was a wayward child,

I did not love my home;

I did not love my Father's voice,
I loved afar to roam.

2

The Shepherd sought his sheep,
The Father sought His child,
And followed me o'er vale and hill,
O'er deserts waste and wild.

AMEN.

1 He leadeth me! O blessed thought!

O words with heavenly comfort fraught!
Whate'er I do, whate'er I be,

Still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me!

Cho. He leadeth me, He leadeth me!
By His own hand He leadeth me!
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

2 Sometimes 'midst scenes of deepest gloom,

Sometimes where Eden's bowers bloom,

By waters still, o'er troubled sea,
