The New England

Historical and Genealogical Register

contains a variety of valuable and interesting matter concerning the History, Antiquities, Genealogy and Biography of America. It was commenced in 1847 (vol. 52 began January, 1898), and it is the oldest historical periodical now published in this country. It is issued quarterly (each number containing at least 96 octavo pages, with a portrait on steel) by the New England Historic Genealogical Society.
