Sec. 775. Compensation of County Commissioners.The County Commissioners shall be paid four dollars per day for each day's service, and ten cents per mile for each mile actually traveled in going to and from the courthouse: Provided, That the per diem pay shall not exceed four hundred dollars in counties of twenty-five thousand population or over, or three hundred dollars in counties of twenty thousand population or over and less than twenty-five thousand population; or two hundred dollars in counties of less than twenty thousand population: Provided further, That the per diem herein provided shall apply to services rendered for inspection of public roads or bridges, or any other services authorized and approved by the Board of County Commissioners.

Sec. 2. The latest census, National or State, shall gov ern the provisions of Section 1 of this Act. Approved June 3, 1911.

CHAPTER 6241-(No. 122).

AN ACT to Amend Section 821 of the General Statutes of the State of Florida, Entitled "Fees" and Relative to the Fees of County Treasurer.

Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

Section 1. That Section 821 of the General Statutes of the State of Florida, entitled "Fees" be, and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:

The fees of County Treasurers shall be as follows: For Fees of receiving the first ten thousand dollars, one and one-half Treasurer. per cent. For all over ten thousand dollars, one-half of

one per cent.

For paying warrants or other evidence of county indebtedness, the same as allowed for receiving.

Sec. 2.

This Act shall take effect January 1st, 1913.

CHAPTER 6242-(No. 123).

AN ACT to Amend Section 351 of the General Statutes of the State of Florida, Relative to the Duties of County Superintendents of Public Instruction.

Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: Section 1. That Section 351 of the General Statutes of Florida be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as follows:

Sec. 351. Duties of County Superintendent.-The perintendent County Superintendent of Public Instruction is directed:

First-To make timely inspection of the county, to ascertain the location in which schools should be established, the number of youth who would attend each, and the amount of aid that the citizens of the neighborhood will contribute to encourage the establishment of a school.

Second-To visit each school at least once during each school term, and to make a thorough examination of its conditions as respects the progress of the pupils in learning, the order and discipline observed, the system of instruction pursued, the attendance of the pupils, the mode of keeping the school records, the character and condition of the school buildings, furniture, books, apparatus and premises, the efficiency of the school supervisor, the interest and co-operation of the citizens in regard to educational matters, and to give such advice as he may deem proper.

Third-To do all in his power to awaken an increased interest in parents, guardians, school supervisors and teachers, with regard to the better education of youth in every respect and the general diffusion of knowledge.

Fourth-To confer with the school supervisors frequently and see that they attend to their duties, keeping them supplied with a copy of the school laws, decisions, blanks and regulations of the department.

Fifth-To select for school supervisors persons whose character, qualifications and sympathy with education specially commend them to those positions.

Sixth-To keep a record by number, name and description of the locality of each school established, of the expense incurred for, and of his visits of inspection to, the several schools.

Seventh-To notify the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, immediately upon entering upon his duties, the names and addresses of all county school officers.

Eighth-To decide upon questions and disputes which arise when submitted to him by the parties interested, and to refer his decisions to the Board of Public Instruction.

Ninth-To see that the interests of the county are properly guarded and its rights secured in the making and performance of every contract for the construction of school buildings, or for other purposes; and that all moneys apportioned to or raised by the county are applied to the objects for which they were granted or raised.

Tenth-To revoke or suspend certificates and suspend those issued by other authority for cause manifestly sufficient, giving notice in writing to the authority issuing them, and of the grounds for so doing; also notifying the teacher in like manner, and of the right of appeal, to whom and when the appeal should be made.

Eleventh-Acting as Secretary of the County School Board, he shall make and forward monthly a certified copy of the Tax Collector's monthly lists of persons who have paid their poll taxes, to the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, who shall file and preserve the same in his office as a part of the public records and furnish copies when requested by the citizens of this State. AN ACT to Define the Line Between Levy and Alachua
Counties.

Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
Section 1. That the boundary line between Levy and
Alachua Counties shall be defined and described as fol-
lows, to-wit:

Commence at the northeast corner of section four, township twelve south, range nineteen east, run west along said township line to range line dividing ranges seventeen and eighteen; then north along said range line to northeast corner of section thirteen, township eleven

CHAPTER 6244-(No. 125).

AN ACT to Amend Section 29 of the General Statutes of the State of Florida, Relating to the Boundary Lines of Baker County.

Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

Section 1. That Section 29 of the General Statutes of the State of Florida, relating to the boundary lines of Baker County be, and the same are hereby amended so as to read as follows:

Sec. 29. The County of Baker shall comprise all the ker County. territory bounded as follows: Beginning at a point at center of township four (4) on range line dividing ranges eighteen (18) and nineteen (19) east; then running north along said range line to the Georgia line; then easterly along said Georgia line to the Saint Marys River, and then down said river to where the said river intersects with range line dividing ranges twenty-two (22) and twenty-three (23); then south along said range line to the center line of township four (4), and then west along said township line to the point of beginning.

Sec. 2. That all laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act be, and the same are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. That this Act shall become operative immediately upon its passage and approval by the Governor. Approved May 19, 1911.

CHAPTER 6245-(No. 126).

AN ACT to Amend Section 42 of the General Statutes of the State of Florida, Relating to the Boundaries of Citrus County.

Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

Section 1. That Section 42 of the General Statutes of the State of Florida be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as follows:

Sec. 42. Citrus.-Citrus County shall be bounded as follows:

Commencing at a point in the middle or center of the Boundaries With lacoochee River on the section line dividing sections 12 and 13, township 21, range 20 east; thence along said line west to the southwest corner of section 9, township 21, range 19 east; thence north along said section line to township line dividing 20 and 21; thence west along said township line to the Gulf of Mexico; thence north along said Gulf, including all islands along said Gulf Coast, to the most southern outlet of the Withlacoochee River at its mouth, leaving out all the islands in the mouth of said river; thence along the north bank of the said Withlacoochee River to where range line dividing ranges 17 and 18 crosses the river; thence south along said range line to center of said river; thence along the center of said river to point of beginning, including all the lands and islands which said river line may enclose.

Sec. 2. That all laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. That this Act shall take effect immediately after its passage and approval by the Governor.
