RAILROAD EMPLOYES AND WAGES. The annexed tables will show in detail the number of persons of different occupations employed by the railroads in this State during the year 1901, together with the number of days worked and the total and average compensation paid in each class. The total amount paid in wages (not including street car railways) for the year 1901 was $13,875,356.92. Wages varied between those paid in 1899 and in 1902, showing on the whole a slight decrease, while the number of employees was largely increased, as may be seen by the following: |
