LECTURE LXVIII.

ST. MATTHEW Xxii. 23.

The same day came to him the Sadducees,

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord

thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy

soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first

and great commandment. And the second is

like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as

MATTHEW Xxiii. 13.

Woe unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypo-

And Jesus went out, and departed from the tem-

ple, and the disciples came to him for to shew

him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus

Verily I say unto you, There shall not be left

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened

unto ten virgins, which took their lamps and

LECTURE LXXIII.

ST. MATTHEW xxv. 14.

For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travel-

ling into a far country, who called his own

servants and delivered unto them his goods.. 344

ST. MATTHEW xxv. 31.

When the Son of Man shall come in his glory,

and all the holy angels with him, then shall he

sit upon the throne of his glory.

ST. MATTHEW xxvi. 3, 4.

Then assembled together the Chief Priests, and

the Scribes, and the Elders of the people, unto

the palace of the High Priest, who was called

Caiaphas, and consulted that they might take

Jesus by subtilty and kill him.

And as they were eating Jesus took bread, and

blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the dis-

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and

they had bound him, they led him away to

Pontius Pilate, the governor.

LECTURE LXXXII.

ST. MATTHEW xxvii. 59, 60.

When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped

it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own

new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock;

and he rolled a great stone to the door of the

sepulchre, and departed......

LECTURE LXXXIII.

ST. MATTHEW xxviii. 5, 6.

And the angel answered and said unto the wo-

men, Fear not ye; for I know that ye seek

Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here,

for he is risen. Come, see the place where the

ST. MATTHEW xxviii. 16—20.

Then the eleven disciples went away into Gali.

lee,into a mountain were Jesus had appointed

them. And when they saw him, they wor-

shipped him, but some doubted. And Jesus

came and spake unto them, saying, All power

is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go

ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing

them in the name of the Father, and of the

Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them

to observe all things whatsoever I have com-

manded you; and, lo, I am with you alway,

even unto the end of the world. Amen..... 454

CONCLUDING DISCOURSE.

ACTS i. 9 and ii. 1-4.

And when he (that is Jesus) had spoken these

things, while they beheld he was taken up,

and a cloud received him out of their sight.-

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come,

they were all with one accord in one place.

And suddenly there came from heaven a

sound as of a rushing mighty wind, and it

filled all the house where they were sitting.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues

as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And

they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and

began to speak with other tongues, as the

Spirit gave them utterance...
