That the comptroller be and is hereby ordered to issue city scrip to the amount of five thousand dollars, in favor of E. A. Edgerton, payable out of any money in the treasury, not otherwise appropriated.

TO CREATE THE OFFICE OF CLERK TO THE

RECORDER.

The People of the City of San Francisco do ordain as follows:

SECT. 1. There shall be established an office, called clerk of the recorder's court.

SECT. 2. He shall be appointed by, and removable at the discretion of the recorder.

SECT. 3. The duties of the clerk of the recorder's court shall be to keep the books and records of said court, and to perform, generally such duties as are attached by law, or custom, to such offices.

SECT. 4. He shall receive an annual compensation of five thousand dollars, payable in equal monthly instalments, out of any money in the treasury, not otherwise appropriated.

ESTABLISHING THE OFFICER OF CLERK TO THE COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE.

The People of the City of San Francisco do ordain as follows:

SECT. 1. That there shall be established an officer called clerk of the comptroller's office.

SECT. 2. He shall be appointed by the comptroller, and removed at his discretion.

SECT. 3. The duties of his office shall be defined by the comptroller.

SECT. 4. He shall receive an annual compensation of five thousand dollars per annum, payable monthly, out of any monies in the treasurery, not otherwise appropriated.

AUTHORISING THE DIVISION OF THE CITY
INTO WARDS.

The People of the City of San Francisco do ordain as follows:

SECT. 1. That the city of San Francisco shall be divided into eight wards, designated by number, with the following boundaries, viz:

SECT. 2. Ward number one, shall include all that portion situated east of a line running through the centre of Stockton street, and north of a line running through the centre of Jackson street.

SECT. 8. Ward number two, shall include all that portion situated west of the said line in Stockton street, and north of the aforesaid line in Jackson street.

SECT. 4. Ward number three, shall include all that portion situated east of a line running through the centre of Kearny street, and between the said line in Jackson street, and a line running through the centre of Sacramento street.

SECT. 5. Ward number four, shall include all that portion sitnated west of the said line in Kearny street, and between the aforesaid line in Sacramento and Jackson streets.

SECT. 6. Ward number five, shall include all thet portion situated between the intersection of Sacramento and Market streets, and the said line in Kearny street, and between the said line in Sacramento street and a line running through the centre of Mar

ket street.

SECT. 7. Ward number six, shall include all that portion sitnated west of said line in Kearny street, and between the aforesaid lines in Sacramento and Market streets.

SECT. 8. Ward number seven shall include all that portion situated south and east of said line in Market street, and east of a line running through the centre of Fourth street.

SECT. 9.

Ward number eight shall include all that portion situated east of the said line in Fourth street, and south and east of the said line in Market street.
