TO OPEN AN ALLEY-WAY NORTH OF THE

CITY HALL.

The People of the City of San Francisco do ordain as follows:

That the street commissioners be, and is hereby authorised to open an alley-way between lot number forty-four, on which City Hall stands, and lot number forty-three, according to the terms and conditions of Hiram Parson's petition, when the owner of lot number forty-three shall cede in perpetuity a like right of way to the city.

That the street commissioner be instructed to advertise in the public papers of this city, for ten days, for sealed proposals for the grading and planking of Webb street, from Sacramento to California streets; the work to be done under his immediate instruction.

The People of the City of San Francisco do ordain as follows:

SECT. 1. That the assessment list for the improving of Montgomery street from Washington street to Jackson street; Kearny street from Clay to Jackson street, and Sacramento street from Montgomery street to Kearny street, be and hereby is confirmed.

SECT. 2. That it shall be the duty of the collector of assessments to present as soon as practicable to each and every property holder, or his agent, a bill for his proportion of such assessment, and to obtain the payment thereof without delay.

AUTHORISING THE ISSUE OF ONE HUNDRED

THOUSAND DOLLARS OF SCRIP.

The People of the City of San Francisco do ordain as follows :

That the comptroller be, and is hereby authorised to issue city scrip to the amount of one hundred thousand dollars, payable one hundred and eighty days after date, with interest at three per cent. per month; or out of the first money borrowed by the commissioners of the "sinking fund;" city property pledged for its redemption. This in addition to amounts authorised by former

ordinance.
