The number of vessels arrived at and departed from the said port, during the year 1844, has been as follows:

This tonnage is ascertained from the licenses granted by officers of the general government for the said vessels.

The canal boats that have arrived and departed at the said port, are not required to be registered under the United States government regulations; therefore no account was made of them by the Harbor-Master.

Fees have been, 65,507 tons, at 1 cents,
