AN ACT

To legalize the certain acts of the supervisors of the town of Port Washington for the year

1846.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. That all roads surveyed and recorded by the supervisors, ex officio commissioners of highways for the town of Port Washington, in the county of Washington, in the year 1846, are hereby legalized, excepting so much as was laid out on section twenty-eight, town eleven, range twenty-two east, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

AN ACT

To annex a certain portion of the town of Sullivan, in the county of Jefferson, to the town of Jefferson.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. That all that part of the town of Sullivan, in the county of Jefferson, embraced in sections one, two, elev en, twelve, thirteen and fourteen, in township number six, north of range number fifteen, is hereby annexed to and made a part of the town of Jefferson, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

AN ACT

To change the name of William Williams.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin :

SECTION 1. That the lawful name of William Williams, a citizen of Monroe, in the county of Green, shall hereafter be Arthur William Williams, by which name he shall hereafter be called and known to all legal intents and purposes what

Relative to the village of Racine.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. That so much of the act entitled " an act to amend an act entitled an act to incorporate the village repealedof Racine,'" passed February 16th, 1842, as provides that

the conveyance of the treasurer of said village, of lands sold for taxes and not redeemed, shall be conclusive evidence that the sale of such lands was regular, is hereby repealed: Pro. vided, that nothing herein contained shall be so construed as to interfere with any rights or interests heretofore acquired. SEC. 2. The same property shall be subject to taxation in the village of Racine for village and harbor purposes, which is subject to taxation for town and county purposes, and none other.

SEC. 3. Persons whose personal estate is liable to taxaRights of tax- tion, in said village, shall have the same right to make an af

payers.

SEC. 4. During the year 1848, the assessors of said village shall have until the fifteenth day of March, to complete. their assessment roll,

SEC. 5. All such parts of the act incorporating the village of Racine, and the acts amendatory thereto as conflict with the provisions of this act are hereby repealed.

AN ACT

To provide for laying out a territorial road from
Beloit, in the county of Rock, to White Oak
Springs, in the county of La Fayette.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. That Lucius G. Fisher, Solomon Overmoyer, and James Farmer, be, and are hereby appointed commission- Commissioners to lay out ers to lay out and establish a territorial road from Beloit, in the territorial county of Rock, thence on the nearest and best route to White Oak Springs, in La Fayette county, crossing the Pecatonica river, at or near the north west corner of section twenty-one, town one, range six east, and the said commissioners are au thorized to adopt any part of any other territorial or county road, which they may deem proper, as a part of the road hereby authorized.
