HALL OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION,

New York, January 11th, 1854. The Commissioners of Common Schools of the several Wards constituting the Board of Education, convened, pursuant to law, for the purpose of organizing for the ensuing year. The members were called to order by Albert Gilbert, Clerk of the Board.

On motion of MR. FELL, Commissioner Elect of the Eighth Ward, ABRAHAM D. Wilson, Commissioner Elect of the Fifth Ward, was appointed President pro tem.

The Clerk then read the following Certificate of Richard B. Connolly, Esq., Clerk of the City and County :
