EDWARD T. WHITFIELD, 2, ESSEX STREET, STRAND.

1850.

BOD

HACKNEY:

PRINTED BY CHARLES GREEN.

PREFACE.

THE present Number closes another Volume of the CHRISTIAN REFORMER. The Editor has been sustained in his work during the past year by some expressions of encouragement and offers of help from men whose approbation he feels to be in itself a rich reward. But for these timely expressions of sympathy, the work which, not without some anxieties, he has now conducted for six years, would probably have been transferred to other hands. Cheered by the spontaneous assurance of many friends, both laymen and divines, that the CHRISTIAN REFORMER is in their estimation doing good service to the cause of Religious Truth and Liberty, he enters gratefully and hopefully on another course of Editorial duty,—and, with the promised help of some able contributors, trusts to make the future Volumes of the Magazine still more worthy of the respect and support of the Unitarian public.
