REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF KEWANEE, ILLINOIS COMMISSION FORM OF MUNICIPAL Revised and Edited by THOMAS J. WELCH, CITY ATTORNEY 1909-1919 PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KEWANEE December 1, 1919 Kewanee, Illinois Kewanee Printing and Publishing Company 1919 PREFACE A revision of the ordinances of the City of Kewanee was needed. Five hundred and thirty-nine ordinances have been passed since the last revision in May, 1902. The Commission Form of Government has been adopted, making necessary a complete rewriting of all ordinances having to do with the legislative and executive functions of the municipal government. All ordinances have been carefully revised. Each department has been consulted concerning the ordinances most applicable to it. Several subjects are treated for the first time. At the end of the book is a collection of the franchise ordinances in force in the city, an Ordinance Annexing Certain Territory to the City of Kewanee, the Ordinance Dividing the City into Voting Precincts and certain special acts of the General Assembly of Illinois pertaining to Kewanee. A conscientious effort has been made to compile a thorough and serviceable index, having in mind that a law book is no better than its index. Kewanee, May 1, 1919. THOMAS J. WELCH. |
