Celebrating The 20th Anniversary of Case and Comment with a Number Surpassing all Others

June: Volume 21, Number 1.

Marriage and Divorce

When, almost a year ago, we selected this title for the coming 20th anniversary number of CASE AND COMMENT, we did so because we felt that no other subject so vitally touched the source and foundation of our national life, and because of the increasing attention which the subject was receiving at the hands of commissions, some of them international in scope, societies, church conferences, bar associations, legislatures, and a vast body of students of social science.

Five Commissioners Contribute

The June issue will open with five notable articles by five out of seven members of the committee on Uniform Marriage and Divorce Laws, selected from the Uniform State Law Commissioners appointed by the Governors of each state and who meet annually with the American Bar Association. One of these Commissioners, Prof. Ernst Freund of the University of Chicago, author of "The Police Power," will discuss "The Limitatations of Uniform Marriage and Divorce Legislation in the United States;" Seneca N. Taylor, of the St. Louis Bar, will treat of "Restrictions upon Improper and Illegal Marriages." Walter G. Smith, of the Philadelphia Bar, writes on "Ethics of Divorce." Joseph Hansell Merrill, of Thomasville, Ga., and George B. Young, of Newport, Vt., will also contribute valuable articles.

Three Text-book Writers
Among the well-known text-book

writers who will contribute to this issue are: Hyacinthe Ringrose, author of "Ringrose's Marriage and Divorce Laws of the World," who writes on "The Apparent Conflict Between the Church and the Divorce Court;" Hugo Hirsh, author of "Hirsh's Tabulated Digest of the Divorce Laws of the United States," who discusses "Popular and Legal Views of Marriage and Divorce." Frank Keezer, author of a treatise on "Marriage and Divorce," contributes on the general theme of "Marriage and Divorce."

The International Viewpoint

But this is not all. The subject of "Control over Marriage and its Dissolution from an Interstate and International Viewpoint" will be presented by Joseph M. Donovan, of the Sioux Falls Bar, and "Foreign Divorces, with Some Incidents of the Conflict of Laws Relating Thereto," will be discussed by Joseph Cummings, of the Boston Bar.

Feminism and Divorce. Eugenics "Feminism and Divorce" will be treated by Henry Wellington Wack of the New York Bar, well known as a writer, and "Legal Aspects of Eugenics" will be presented by Thomas Speed Mosby, former Pardon Attorney of the State of Missouri and author of treatises on "Capital Punishment," "Alcoholism and Crime," and "Causes and Cures of Crime."

An unusually good divorce story by William Hamilton Osborne, entitled "The Wilkinson Case," is the fiction feature of the June number. All regular departments will also appear.

The Federal Employers' Liability Act

By HOMER RICHEY

Associate Editor Virginia Law Register

Latest and Most Exhaustive Treatise on the Subject

The rights and liabilities of carriers by rail and their employees under the Federal Employers' Liability Act is a subject of the widest possible interest. No lawyer bringing or defending an action against a carrier by rail for the death or injury of an employee can afford to take a single step without a thorough knowledge of its provisions and the decisions, thereunder.

An Orderly Presentation of the Law as Actually

Declared by the Courts

The decisions handed down by the United States Supreme Court during the period October 1912, to October 1913, have done more to settle the law under the Federal Employers' Liability Act than those of all previous years taken together. This book includes all these decisions, and it is the only book that has them.
