AT ITS ANNUM. SESSIONS IN PHILADELPHIA, PA., IN THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, IN THE YEAR Of Our Lord One THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND ONE.

The sessions began on the 16th and continued until 21st, adjourning at 11 p. m.

ARTICLE I.

OPENING OF SYNOD.

Synod convened in Heidelberg Reformed church, Nineteenth and Oxford Streets, Philadelphia, Pa., Wednesday, October 16, A. D. 1901, at 8 P. M., according to adjournment. The Session was opened with religious service. Revs. Drs. S. R. Bridenbaugh and E. N. Kremer officiated at the altar. The opening sermon was preached by the President, Rev. Thomas J. Hacker, from the text recorded in Isaiah 52:1 -"Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion, put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city."

After the sermon the Holy Communion was celebrated by Synod as a body, all the members participating.

The Synod being opened with prayer, was duly called to order by the President. The provisional roll was called, and a quorum was in attendance.
