AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE FUNDING OF THE VALID
PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST OF CERTAIN OUTSTANDING
BONDS AND STOCK OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA
INTO THE NEW 4 PER CENT. "REDEMPTION OF BROWN
CONSOL BONDS AND STOCK."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That Old bonds de- the State Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized and instructed to receive from the holders thereof who may surrender the same all coupon bonds and certificates of stock now fundable in Brown Consols under the Act of 1873, as amended in 1879 and 1880, and other Acts authorizing the issue of said Brown Consols, and which are referred to in the State Treasurer's Annual Report, 31st October, 1893, and shall thereupon, in exchange for and in lieu of the valid principal of said bonds and certificates of stock so surrendered, together with the valid and unpaid interest on the same to July 1st, 1893, issue to said holder other coupon bonds or certificates of stock of the kind issued under Act approved December , 1892, and known as In 4% per cent. Brown 4 Per Cent. "Redemption Brown Consols," of face value equal to said valid principal and interest to July 1st, 1893, upon the terms set forth in Act of 1873 as amended 1879-'80. SEC. 2. That so much of all the Acts of 1873, 1879, 1880, and other Acts authorizing the issue of said Brown Consols, as are inconsistent with this Act be, and the same are hereby, repealed. No. 307. AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE SELECTION OF A PUBLIC PRINTER AND TO REGULATE THE AWARDING OF CONTRACTS FOR PUBLIC PRINTING.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That Election of the General Assembly shall biennially elect a State Public Printer, Term of office. Whose term of office shall be two years, which shall begin with the expiration of the term of the present contract for State printing, and until his successor shall have been duly elected

and shall have qualified in the manner prescribed by law, and who shall receive for the public printing, during such period, the following compensation to wit:

50 copies per day Senate Calendar, at 80 cents per page. 150 copies per day House Calendar, at 80 cents per page. 50 copies per day Senate Journal, at 80 cents per page. 150 copies per day House Journal, at 80 cents per page. 50 copies per day Senate Resolutions, at 80 cents per page. 150 copies per day House Resolutions, at 80 cents per page. 50 copies per day Senate Bills, at $1.25 per page. 150 copies per day House Bills, at $1.40 per day. 1,500 copies Governor's Message, at 75 cents per page.

600 copies Report Comptroller-General, at 95 cents per page. 300 copies Reports other State officials, at 90 cents per page. 300 copies Reports Public Institutions, at 80 cents per page. 2,500 copies Acts and Joint Resolutions, at $4 per page. 500 copies Senate Journals, at $1 per page.

500 copies House Journals, at $1 per page.

500 copies Reports and Resolutions, at 80 cents per page.

Rule and figure work a price and two-thirds. All other work not embraced in above schedule to be done at corresponding figures.

SEC. 2. That upon the election of said Public Printer, and his Acceptance to filing with the Secretary of State his acceptance of the terms of this Act and giving the bond required by law, the said acceptance shall constitute a contract between him and the State.

SEC. 3. That the bond and duties of the Public Printer shall remain the same as now required by law.

SEC. 4. That should the State Printer so elected die during Vacancy. the interim between the sessions of the General Assembly, or default during said time, then another Public Printer shall be appointed by the Governor and Chairman of the Committees of How filled. SEC. 5. That all Acts and parts of Acts inconsistent with this Repealing Act be, and the same are hereby, repealed.

SEC. 6. That this Act shall take effect immediately upon its approval.

PER DIEM, MILEAGE AND STATIONERY CERTIFICATES OF
THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SALARIES
OF THE SUBORDINATE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES THEREOF,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES HEREIN NAMED.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That General ap- the following sums, if so much be necessary, be, and the same are hereby, appropriated to meet the expenses of the General Assembly at its regular session beginning on the twenty-eighth day of November, 1893, to the close of the session, and for other purposes herein named, as is more specifically indicated in the several succeeding Sections of this Act, that is to say:
