BIBLIOGRAPHY.

FOLLOWING is a partial list of the books read and consulted in preparation for The Educational Ideal. The editions noted are those to which the author had access, and, in many cases, are not the best. A number of the English books have been republished in America; and there are, doubtless, other translations from the French and German than those indicated. To make the bibliography of greater value, those books which are believed to be most useful in a general study of the subject of this volume are indicated by a star [*].
