Congress has decided, with great unanimity, that it will stick to the established way of spelling the English language, and the President, except for his own personal correspondence, gracefully acquiesces. The Government Printing Office accordingly drops the 300 simplified words, although all of this season's executive documents and reports use thru" and the other novelties promulgated by the Carnegie board. The action of Congress is in accord with that of the newspapers and periodicals of the country with hardly any exceptions.
