AN ACT for the Relief of F. M. Hedick, Ex-Collector of Revenue of Hernando County, Florida.

WHEREAS, F. M. Hedick, ex-Collector of Revenue of Hernando county, paid for advertising the delinquent tax list of Preamble. said county the sum of three hundred and ninety-six ($396.00) dollars, which was at the rate of one dollar a certificate for each delinquent's property, which property was bid in at said sale by said Collector of Revenue for the State of Florida; and whereas, When making his settlement with the Comptroller said Comptroller refused to allow to said F. M. Hedick the sum of one dollar a certificate for such advertisement, although the same had been paid by the said F. M. Hedick to the Brooksville Register, for the publication aforesaid, but only allowed him the sum of eighty-three ($83.00) dollars for such publication; and whereas, Certificates numbers 181, 182 and 183 were sold as unknown land, while in truth and in fact the same were not subject to taxation, and were improperly assessed; which three certificates amount in the aggregate twenty-five 96-100 ($25.96) dollars, which amount the Comp troller charged him up with; therefore

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

SECTION 1. That the Comptroller be and he is hereby authorized and directed to credit the account of F. M. Hedick, exCollector of Revenue of Hernando county, with the sum of three hundred and thirty-eight 96-100 ($338.96) dollars. Approved May 31, 1887.

AN ACT for the Relief of Dr. G. M. Vincent, of Columbia County,
Florida.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

SECTION 1. That Dr. G. M. Vincent, of Columbia county, Florida, having been employed to exhume the dead body of John K. Koon, and extracted buckshot therefrom to be used as evidence in the case of the State versus Robert Cooper Gantlin, charged with murder of the said Koon, and for which service he has not been paid, the sum of fifty ($50) dollars, be Appropriation. and is hereby appropriated out of any moneys not otherwise appropriated, to be paid to the said Dr. Vincent.

SEC. 2. That all laws and parts of laws in conflict with the provisions of this act be and the same are hereby repealed. Approved June 2, 1887.

AN ACT for the Relief of Lawrence D. Wall, of Clay County, and other
Tax Assessors who took Agricultural Statistics in 1877.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

SECTION 1. That Lawrence D. Wall, of Clay county, having taken the agricultural statistics of said county at great expense to himself, in the year 1877, after having performed the regular duties of his office as Tax Assessor, for which services he was not paid; that the sum of fifty dollars ($50) be and is hereby Appropriation appropriated out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be paid to the said Lawrence D. Wall; And be it provided further, That the Tax Assessors who took said agricultural statistics in the year 1877, and have not heretofore been paid, be and they are hereby paid the sum of fifty dollars

AN ACT for the Relief of D. L. McKinnon.

WHEREAS, [Previous] to the 22d day of June, A. D. 1869, the claim of the State against Daniel Williams, as Tax Collec- Preamble. tor in and for the county of Escambia, for a balance due by him as said Collector of Taxes for the years 1866 and 1867, has accrued and [been] placed in the hands of the State's Attorney for collection; and whereas, D. L. McKinnon, as State's Attorney did, at the December Term of the Circuit Court of Escambia county for the year A. D. 1882, recover judgment against William L. Williams, one of the sureties upon the of ficial bond of the said Daniel Williams (the other surety, Dillon Jordan), being deceased, and the said Daniel Williams having removed from the State, and for the sum of five thousand two hundred [and] fourteen dollars and sixty-nine cents; and whereas, the Legislature did, by act approved March the first, A. D. 1883, relieve the said William L. Williams from the payment of said judgment, and directed the Clerk of said court to enter upon the records of said court tull satisfaction of said judgment, thereby depriving the said D. L. McKinnon of any means of collecting his ten per cent. commissions which he was by law entitled to collect, and could have collected; and whereas, the Comptroller has refused to pay said commissions, as no appropriation had been made to pay the same, therefore, Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

SECTION 1. WHEREAS, The above mentioned parties were appointed to certain offices in this State since the 1st day of January, A. AN ACT for the Relief of Dr. E. B. Thompson.

WHEREAS, Dr. E. B. Thompson, of the county of Madison
and State of Florida, on the 13th day of July, A. D. 1886, was Preamble.
summoned by J. A. M. Brown, Esq., a Justice of the Peace
and ex-officio Coroner, to make an autopsy upon the dead body
of Martha Hetaway, who was buried on the 6th day of said
month and afterwards exhumed; and whereas, the said Dr. E.
B. Thompson was compelled to travel twelve miles to the
burial place and make this autopsy, and has never been paid
for said service; therefore,

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
SECTION 1. That the Comptroller be and is hereby required

to issue his warrant on the Treasurer in favor of Dr. E. B. Appropriation.
Thompson for fifty dollars for said service.
