To an inhabitant of an inland country, it is difficult to conceive the extent and the violence with which the sands at the extremity of Cape Cod are thrown up from the depths of the sea, and left on the beach in thousands of tons, by every driving storm. Página 333 - July 22nd, a sixth time, with ripe seed and three loads of hay to the acre. Immediately after each cutting it was manured with liquid manure, the produce of each crop increasing with the temperature of the atmosphere, from three-quarters of a load, the first cutting, to three loads the last. He discontinued manuring now, thinking its growth would be terminated in bearing seed, but he afterwards cut four crops from it. On the 26th of January following, it measured sixteen inches in height.
