THE following Sermons have been published, at the desire of some members of the Congregation of St. Mary, Lambeth, in which they were delivered. The Author cannot but fear, lest, among the many excellent treatises on the same subject, this little Volume may be deemed superfluous. Yet, with the hope of these discourses promoting (from a local interest in their behalf) a closer study of the Liturgy and that pure spirit of devotion, diffused throughout the Common Prayer—and a deeper reverence for, and acquaintance with, the Church-he humbly commends them to the blessing of the Giver of all grace.
